21 more days until the big 5-0!!

In the spirit of birthday celebrations, I have to write about our crazy trip to Florida.

So, what had happened was….I found this upscale hotel and spa in Sanibel Island, FL. I thought it was the perfect place to take you for your birthday. The hotel was beautiful and it was quiet and very secluded. Our first few spa treatments and meals were great. We were both so stressed and we needed relaxation. However, the hotel and Sanibel were very chill – too quiet. After a few days, we (primarily you) started to get sick of quiet (and the older crowd).

The spa offered a special, unique relaxation treatment – it was the thing they were known for. That was my big birthday treat for you. Well….they put us in something that seemed like a hammock, turned off all the lights, and I thought were were in space or in a planetarium. They literally had us floating around the room in these hammock like contraptions. The ish was crazy!! Sorry…my bad! Well, that was it for us. It was late in the evening, but we were like “We Got to Go”! We needed some excitement. Lucky for us there was a rental car service at the hotel. We rented a convertible and drove about 3 hours to Miami.

We found heaven at the Delano hotel! The weekend in Miami definitely made up for the craziness in Sanibel Island! We had a blast. We talked and laughed about out weekend on the plane ride home to DC. We continued laughing so hard at all the weekend craziness while we were deplaning. As a matter of fact, we laughed so hard (tears running down our face and everything) we walked right past AA who was waiting to pick us up at the gate! I think we tickled AA because he let us keep laughing and walking towards baggage claim while he strolled right behind us laughing. Lawd, I wish I could remember what was so damn funny!
