Randi,
It was my 31st birthday (June 1999). You took me to LA to celebrate. I found the Mondrian hotel via an article in People Magazine and you made it happen – that’s where we stayed. In usual Randi fashion, you planned every dinner to celebrate the occasion. You started us at Crustacean. I was mesmerized by the beautiful décor, the aquarium floor, and the secret kitchen (restricted to only family members to cook their signature crab dish). I didn’t like seafood, but it was their specialty. You encouraged me to try it and I’ve been in love with crab ever since. (Oh, we met Morris Day and Jerome 😊)
The highlight of the weekend was my actual birthday dinner. You made arrangements for us to eat at Spago because you knew that I loved steak. I ordered the steak, and I had the nerve to ask for A1 sauce. Yes, me at one of the best restaurants in LA asking for some freakin’ steak sauce. The look on your face was priceless (basically like “no you didn’t embarrass me up in here”). I’m so sorry….LOL. It was a wonderful weekend in LA!
You are the person who always finds a way to make people feel special. It’s your gift. You have made me feel special on my birthday since I was 30 years old. I am so grateful for that and for all the things I have been exposed to because of your creative mind, adventurous spirit, and beautiful heart.
Cheers to your beautiful, loving spirit and your beautiful heart! ❤❤❤❤
