Ran,
I remember when you said you were moving (only for a year, lol). So many thoughts were swirling in my head. First meeting you/Mocha Moms. Runaway nights to your house. Surgery in your kitchen. Bookclub with themed outings. Secrets. Parties, Chili’s etc… As I sat at Ruby Tuesday’s I could only, selfishly, think about how my life was already in turmoil!! How was I going to get through the crazy without my (crazy) friend? Because what I now know is that whether in person or somewhere in this world you were, and are, always there supporting and loving me. Even when it was hard!! You gave me confidence. You gave me knowledge. And you gave me Tami ♥️ (along with a phalanx of friends). It’s very difficult to put into words what your friendship has meant and how it has evolved. Sharing dreams (and turning them into reality), speaking life into sho ‘nuf issues and struggles, navigating this world as black women, as we raise our sons into black men. We have grown into a sisterhood that knows no bounds. I wish I could share your golden day with you but know that I wish you the happiest of birthdays 🎂 and all of the adventure and joy that comes with this moment in time!! Welcome to the half century mark and here’s to the next 50 and beyond 🥂!Thank you for loving me and for truly being my friend !
Always,
Melly Mel 😘💋
PS-I also remember you telling me that you hate when people shorten your name 😂!! With that said thanks for being my Ran for 20 years ♥️
